Who We Serve

Emerging and Start-Up Businesses

Pinnock, Robbins, Posey & Richins has extensive experience with the issues faced with emerging and start-up businesses. Whether you need assistance with entity formation, executive compensation, stock option plans, tax compliance or assurance services, the professionals at Pinncok, Robbins, Posey & Richins understand and can provide the needed assistance.

Closely Held and Family Businesses

We specialize in serving privately owned businesses.  Such businesses have unique issues, such as ownership succession and buy-sell planning, income and estate tax planning, cash flow planning, and financial accounting support.  We serve our clients by first understanding their goals and objectives, assessing their current circumstances, and then developing practical solutions to complex tax laws and accounting standards.  We will work with you to help you successfully achieve your business and ownership goals.

Executives and Professionals

Our firm is well-positioned to meet the tax and accounting needs of executives and professionals.  For executives, we have deep expertise in strategic planning for employee stock options, deferred compensation plans, and other types of executive compensation.  Our planning considers not only the tax ramifications but also the overall financial effects of each type of compensation.  Significantly, this planning also utilizes strategies for managing the alternative minimum tax.  We also assist companies seeking to implement executive compensation programs.

As a professional, you need strong tax and accounting support to assist you in your day to day and long-term decisions.  We meet those needs in a responsive, efficient, and forward-thinking manner.  We provide QuickBooks and other accounting support and assurance services as needed, as well as tax compliance and planning.

High-Net Worth and High-Income Individuals

As a high-net worth individual, you seek not only tax minimization, but also to preserve your net worth through appropriate financial and estate planning strategies.  Many times you will have philanthropic goals as well.  Our extensive experience in these areas allows us to take a holistic approach in meeting all of these needs.  Not only do we provide necessary compliance and planning services to you and your family, but also utilize competent outside advisors (such as legal counsel) where necessary.  We also provide home office services (such as bill paying and periodic accounting services) as needed.

Taxes represent the greatest expense for a large number of individuals, and so high-income individuals have an overall need to minimize their current tax liability to the extent possible.  We assist you in minimizing your current tax liabilities, while also evaluating their exposure to long-term income, estate, gift, and other taxes, and keeping you current with your tax filing obligations.

Government and Non-Profit Organizations

Governmental audits are very diverse and include all audits and attestation engagements performed under accounting standards promulgated by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States. In addition to financial statement audits, governmental audits include audits performed under the Single Audit Act Amendments of 1996 and OMB Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations (referred to as Single Audits), program specific audits as defined under OMB Circular A-133, and other compliance audits and attestation engagements performed as required by federal, state, or local laws and regulations. Pinnock, Robbins, Posey & Richins has served government entities for many years and our audit professionals are very proficient in the unique financial accounting framework that exists in government. We are committed to offering our governmental clients a high level of experience and expertise.

We are members of the Governmental Audit Quality Center of the AICPA (GAQC). The GAQC is a voluntary membership center for CPA firms that perform governmental audits. As members, we have made a commitment to adhere to GAQC membership requirements that are designed to introduce additional quality control features into our practice and governmental engagements.

Nonprofit organizations require a thorough understanding of accounting, financial and consulting issues that are particular to their needs. Our professionals work with you to gain a detailed understanding your issues.
